Aug. 16 Somerset County COVID-19 Update: 115 Weekend Cases

SOMERVILLE, NJ – The Somerset County Department of Health Monday reported 25,011 cases of the COVID-19 virus since the first cases were reported in March 2020, an increase of 115 since Friday. There has been a total of 739 deaths since March 8, 2020.

The New Jersey Department of Health Monday reported 927,536 total cases, an increase of 1,128 overnight with 23,975 COVID-19-related deaths in New Jersey since last year. A total of 5,423,317 New Jersey residents have been vaccinated with 14,886,407 COVID-19 tests administered statewide.

Somerville has had a total of 1,136 COVID-19 cases since March 2020, with 20 COVID-19 related deaths.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is 208,263,872 including 4,379,612 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention Monday morning, with 37,469,989 cases in the United States and 637,572 deaths.

The SCDOH confirmed the deaths of 216 Franklin Township residents; 97 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 106 in Bridgewater; 47 in Bernards Township; 55 in North Plainfield; 35 in Green Brook; 17 in Watchung; 22 in Raritan; 24 in Bound Brook; 23 in Warren; 23 in Manville; 20 in Somerville; 23 in Montgomery; 12 in Branchburg; 5 in Bedminster; 5 in Bernardsville; 4 in South Bound Brook; 4 in Peapack-Gladstone; 1 in Rocky Hill and 1 in Far Hills.
